Informational interviews are unstructured conversations aimed at learning more about another person's role, experiences, or perspectives. At VCU, informational interviews can be used to make new connections with colleagues in different units and to learn about career journeys that may inspire your next step. In this session I will share my experience with informational interviews and tips for using this platform to expand your professional network.
Stephanie Ganser, Director of the Adult Learner Experience, Office of Adult and Non-Traditional Student Services
This presentation will highlight the programs, initiatives, and outreach the Office of Adult and Non-Traditional Student Services at Virginia Commonwealth University has overseen since it was established in March 2021. In a time of organizational change and movement that is noticeable across industries and employment sectors, we are excited to spark conversation on the joys of staying and growing at VCU. This session will highlight the stories and experiences of professionals at different levels who can speak to how they have intentionally stretched themselves and developed along their professional pathway, whether through pursuing internal advancement, adding depth to a role sustained over time, and/or moving across VCU on their way to their current position. We hope you will join us to find inspiration as a VCU professional, in this season and looking towards the future.
